Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some common questions about working with Udo. If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to get in touch at ada@udotherapy.com.
My approach is person-centred at its core, and informed by trauma-informed and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) principles, so I can respond thoughtfully to each person's unique needs. Where it's a good fit, I also offer short-term, solution-focused therapy.
Yes. I offer a paid, 20-minute initial consultation for £10. It's a chance for us to talk through what's brought you to therapy, so we can explore your unique situation together and figure out the best way to approach it before your first therapy session.
Each 1:1 therapy session lasts 50 minutes. (The initial consultation is shorter, at 20 minutes. See above.)
Sessions currently take place online, and you're welcome to choose whichever platform feels most comfortable to you — WhatsApp, Zoho Meeting, Google Meet or Signal. Face-to-face sessions in the UK are coming soon.
Sessions typically take place weekly, on the same day and at the same time each week, which helps build consistency into the therapeutic process. If needed, a session can be rescheduled to another time within the same week, if requested in advance.

This varies from person to person. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, around 6–12 weeks, while others need longer-term support, sometimes 20 weeks or more.
You can either book an open-ended session (£50) and see how things progress, or if we agree together that a short-term or long-term course would suit your situation, book a fixed block of sessions. An initial consultation is the best way to work out what's right for you.
Yes, though a few things to be aware of:
For 1:1 sessions:
Notice period: Cancellations or rescheduling requests need at least 12 hours' notice. Anything less is treated as a no-show, which can't be refunded or rescheduled.
Rescheduling within the week: I'm always happy to move your session to another day or time within the same week, as long as there's availability.
Skipping a week: A session can be pushed to the following week, and this can be done up to twice. Beyond that, further changes are at my discretion and can't be guaranteed — so where possible, please try to reschedule within the same week.
Cancelling outright: If you'd rather cancel than reschedule, this is possible with at least 12 hours' notice, though a 20% cancellation fee will be deducted.
For the group programme:
If you can't make a session, you're welcome to join another group meeting that same week, if one's available.
A week that's missed altogether can't be moved to another week.
If you need a longer break, the best option is to pause and rejoin the next cohort, which typically starts a couple of months later.
